Once fall arrives, we start thinking about all things apples and pumpkins. I’m a big believer in the fact that kids should learn using their hands as much as possible. For this reason, we do a lot of sensory activities and sensory play in our house. Even though this apple activity might be geared more towards early learners, there’s nothing stopping the older kids from joining in on the fun as well!

My biggest tip for this project is to make certain that you use plastic bags that you know will seal well and hold that seal. Since that is what is holding in the paint, you don’t want to take a chance of the bag bursting open because that will just make a giant mess to clean.
I’ve found that the snappable sealed bags work great for this as do the zip-topped bags. Save yourself some stress and time and get the right type of bag and then make certain that they are sealed all the way correctly. The directions below do mention using tape at the top of the bag – I do this in addition to sealing it. Double the protection!
