This heart nativity craft with Joseph, Mary, and Baby Jesus is one you should add to your Christmas to-do list this with your kids this year. Not only is it adorable, but it’s easy to make and ideal for kids of all ages.
Every Christmas I try to be more intentional about planning out activities with my kids. Christmas is just a special time of year and I like to treat it as such by doing meaningful and memorable things as much as possible with my kids. School is more relaxed around here during the month of December so that we allow for more family time and activities that focus on Christmas, togetherness, and Jesus.
Some of our favorite things we enjoy doing together at Christmas time are serving as a family at the local toy drive; attending a living nativity in town; shopping for Angel Tree gifts; making Christmas goodies to give to family, friends, and neighbors; watching Christmas movies and reading Christmas storybooks; going on a Christmas lights scavenger hunt; and making crafts for fun, or for gifts.
I especially like doing nativity-themed crafts and activities with the kids. This is a simple paper craft featuring Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus in a heart shape that you could use to simply hang on the fridge, turn it into an ornament by punching a hole at the top and threading through a piece of yarn or ribbon, or making it a Christmas card by adding a holiday message or greeting on the back.

Heart Nativity Paper Craft Instructions
Supplies You Need:
- Printable template
- Card stock: white, dark brown, brown, peach and light blue
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Markers: Black, brown, yellow
- Googly eyes (optional)
Instructions
First things first, print out the template on a white piece of card stock and cut out all of the pieces.
Next, you’ll trace the heart on the brown piece of card stock; trace the hook shaped piece on the light blue piece of card stock; trace the thin rectangle on the dark brown piece of card stock; and trace all three circles on the peach piece of card stock. Now cut out all the pieces you just traced. You can leave the white oval as is, just flip it over to conceal the black lines from the template.
Another option is to just use all white card stock and color the pieces as you wish.
Now you’ll glue the blue hook piece on to the right side of the brown heart shape.
Then use the markers to draw faces and hair on the three peach circles – one for Joseph, one for Mary, and one for Baby Jesus. Glue Jesus’ head to the white oval body. You can also use googly eyes for the eyes instead of drawing them on if you wish.
Next glue the dark brown rectangle strip to the upper left side of the brown heart.
Lastly, glue on the two faces in the middle of the heart – brown side for Joseph, blue side for Mary – and glue Baby Jesus under them.
As mentioned above, you can then make the craft into an ornament or a Christmas card.
