This Honey Slime recipe only calls for 3 safe ingredients – so safe, it’s actually edible! It’s a great way to make non-toxic slime at home with your kiddos.
If you have following my blog for very long, you know my kids and I enjoy making and playing with slime. Seriously, we have done so many different slime crafts and shared them on the blog.
Check out our slime recipes here, especially our Birthday Slime, Strawberry Scented Slime, and Textured Sand Slime!
Our latest creation is so easy to make, as it only calls for 3 ingredients. Honey, Cornstarch, and Vegetable Oil. All ingredients you may already have in your kitchen.
A bonus to our honey slime is it is edible! I didn’t think it tasted very good, but you know it’s safe for your children to play with if they can eat it too.
How to Make Honey Slime
- ½ cup honey
- 1 cup cornstarch (powdered sugar can also be used but may require more than 1 cup)
- 3 to 5 tablespoons oil (I used vegetable oil)
In a microwave safe container, mix together the cornstarch and honey by pressing with the back of a spoon. Mix as much of the cornstarch into the honey as you can.
Place the mixture into the microwave for 15 to 30 seconds or just until warmed.
To the honey mixture, add 1 tablespoon of oil at a time until it forms a dough.
Turn the dough out onto parchment or waxed paper. Knead (and smooth) oil into the dough until it reaches a stretchy, slime-like consistency.
If the honey slime becomes sticky or stiff while playing, add a little more oil.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature. If refrigerated, the slime will become stiff. Bring to room temperature before playing.
