Today we bring you Valentines Day Slime – which can be made any other day as Strawberry Slime. It smells amazing!
We have done so many slime recipes on the blog. My kids love making it and playing with it. Though it can be messy, I try to remember they are only little once. It won’t be long before they are too old and don’t want to play with slime – so they can enjoy it for the time being.
Holiday themed slime is always a hit in our home. That’s why I knew everyone would love making this Valentines Day slime!
Strawberry Valentines Day Slime
Perhaps the best thing about this red slime recipe is the smell. It’s strawberry scented, so it will be heavenly to mold and shape with it during play. Just make sure your kids don’t try to eat it since it smells so nice!
Making this fun slime could be a great classroom or homeschool activity. It would be part of a Valentines Day themed unit study or just something for the kids to do as an art project.
You could even pass out small containers of the slime as valentines. Place a sticker on the lid or attach a special message to the jar and there you go. A neat valentine that your kid’s friends are sure to have fun playing with.
How to Make Strawberry Slime
Supplies
- 1 (6 ounce) bottles Elmer’s Glue
- About ½ cup warm water
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon contact lens solution (containing boric acid), for each batch
- 1 teaspoon strawberry scent
- Red or pink food coloring
Directions
Empty the glue into a large bowl.
Fill the empty glue bottle about ⅓ full with warm water (about ¼ cup) and seal with the lid. Shake well to combine the remaining glue with the water. Pour into bowl with glue and stir to combine.
Add the food coloring and baking soda to the glue and stir to mix thoroughly.
If you are adding additional glitter, food coloring, scents, or confetti, stir into the glue mixture before adding the contact lens solution.
Add contact lens solution to the glue mixture and stir well. (Note: regular glue will require less contact lens solution than glitter glue. Add the contact lens solution slowly, mixing between additions, and add only enough to bring the glue together into a soft ball.)
Remove the slime from the bowl. The slime will be sticky. Begin to play with the slime, stretching or kneading it as you would bread dough, to bring the slime together. The slime is ready when it is no longer sticky.
Store this strawberry Valentines Day Slime in an airtight container in the refrigerator when not in use.
