- Luminary template
HOW TO MAKE A NATIVITY LUMINARY
Select a dark colored cardstock paper for the luminary base. Divide the paper into 3 even parts and keep 1 cm thin part on either side.
Use pencil to draw the template pattern on the middle one of the divided parts.
Use the X-acto knife to cut out the white marked parts from the traced patterns.
Carefully cut out the rest of the patterns from the base cardstock paper.
Select some light colored craft papers or tissue craft papers. Cut out the papers as per the sizes of the individual patterns on the cardstock luminary base. I’m using 1 color for the star, 1 color for the thin triangles on the top and a 3rd color for the main Nativity scene.
Cut out and stick the craft papers to cover each cut-out patterns on either side, which will be the wrong side (or inner side) of the cardstock luminary.
Attach papers to cover the cut-out patterns nicely on all sides.
Once you are done covering the cut-out patterns, apply glue along the 1 cm thin part of the cardstock base.
Join the glued part with the cardstock base’s other open end to close the luminary pattern.
Switch on and place an LED candle inside the cardstock luminary.
