One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11 –
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
It’s so comforting to know that the Lord has a special plan and purpose just for me (and for my kids). That’s way I love The Legend of the Three Trees and was thrilled to receive the DVD from Tommy Nelson (and thrilled be able to give one away to one of you – enter at the end of this post).
Even though this classic folktale is one that is usually told at Easter time, I feel that it is relevant all year round. The DVD version is an animated retelling of the story and is narrated by Hal Holbrook. This 40 minute DVD is perfect for your little ones, ages 2-7.
The Legend of the Three Trees tells the story of 3 trees that each have their own big hopes and dreams. Unfortunately, the big plans they hope for their lives don’t come true and they end up disappointed. But they soon learn that God has even bigger and better plans for each of them.
Thoughtfully written and beautifully animated, The Legend of the Three Trees teaches children and adults alike the significance of their role in God’s plan for the world.
I absolutely love the message behind this story!
