This is actually a treat that my mom used to make when I was a kid. I remember her making them for our birthday parties and to take to school for our classmates for a birthday treat. These are not only yummy and adorable, but easy to make too – a good combination if you ask me.
Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes
Ingredients/Supplies:
- 1 pkg. white cake mix
- 1 pkg. ice cream cones, 18-24 ct.
- 1 container of strawberry frosting
- 1 container of chocolate frosting
- 1 container of vanilla frosting
- maraschino cherries
- sprinkles
- star tip, piping bags
Directions:
1. Preheat over to 350 degrees. Place cones, right side up, on a cookie sheet or in a muffin baking sheet.
2. Prepare cake mix per package directions and pour batter into cones, filling up 3/4 of the way.
3. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until baked through and lightly brown on top.
4. Using the star tip and a piping bag or Ziploc bag, fill the bag with frosting. Pipe in a circular motion on top of the cake cone, just like soft serve ice cream looks.
5. Place about a cup of the white frosting in a bowl and microwave for about 8-10 seconds until slightly melted. Spoon a little bit on top of the frosted cone and let the frosting run a bit down the sides.
6. Top with sprinkles and a cherry.
