I love listening to Christian music in our home. It helps lift up our spirits and helps us to worship our Lord. I just love lifting my hands up to the Lord as I sing His praises, and I love it even more when I have a little one (or 2, or more) joining in next to me. And when we start our day in this manner, it just sets the tone for our whole day and helps us to focus on Him.
With so many little ones in our home, most of the Christian music we play are kids CDs. I love these songs just as much as ‘grown-up’ songs, if not more because I love to see and hear my kids worshiping the Lord through music.
Here are our top favorite Christian Kids CDs that we listen to often in our home:
Psalty the Singing Songbook
I grew up listening to Psalty. My mom would wake me up every morning by putting on the Psalty vinyl record (yes, that’s how old I am). It was a wonderful way to start the day. I love how Psalty introduces Biblical concepts in a way that children understand. They have many CDs to choose from, but my favorite is the Kid’s Praise 2 CD.
Hide ‘Em in Your Heart
We love using these CDs to help with scripture memory. I like them so much that I even made scripture cards to go along with them. They’ve not only helped my kids memorize scripture, but they’ve helped me as well!
LullaBible
This isn’t a CD that we start our day with, but it’s just as important to end our day with the Lord as well. This was one of the first Christian kid’s music CDs we ever owned and I love putting my babies to sleep listening to the comforting assurance of God’s promises. This comes as a Bible storybook that includes the CD of lullabies.
Here I Am to Worship for Kids
I like this CD because it’s ‘grown-up’ worship songs sung by kids! Even though this is a kid’s CD, it’s a great compromise to not listening to little kid songs every day. This CD has some of my all time favorite worship songs on it. Plus there are 2 more volumes of this CD.
The Singing Bible
I discovered this gem when we started using Heart of Dakota’s Little Hands to Heaven preschool curriculum about 6 years ago. The Singing Bible sets scripture to music and takes your child through the Bible with song. It’s a fun way for kids to travel through and learn about the Bible. This is a 4-CD set that includes more than 50 songs.
