No one can deny just how adorable minions are! The way they move, the way they talk and the way that worm their way into your hearts can’t be ignored! If you love minions, then these Minion cookies are the perfect minions treat!
In our house, we are huge minion and Despicable Me fans. We have the stuffed animals and we giggle with delight any time we see those ones (or tw0) eyed, cute little creatures. While you don’t necessarily need a reason to make these minion cookies, they are truly perfect for a Minion-themed birthday party or a Despicable Me movie night.
The next time that we queue up the Despicableble Me movie, I know exactly what treat I’ll be surprising my family with. They’ll go crazy over these cookies and love the fact that I’m tying it in with the movie them. And PS…the frosting on these cookies is so delicious – buttercream! Literally, the best type of frosting in the world!

How to Make Despicable Me Minion Cookies!
Ingredients
- 1 box of cake mix, any brand
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 C. vegetable oil
- 2 egg whites
- blue gel food coloring
- yellow gel food coloring
- 3 C. powdered sugar
- 1/3 C. butter softened
- 3-4 tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- large freezer bag OR disposable piping bag
- kitchen scissors
- large candy eyes
- Wilton Black Decorating Icing
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Combine the cake mix, flour, vegetable oil and egg whites mixing well. Add several drops of blue gel food coloring. Once the cookie dough is starting to blend with the blue, use your hand and continue to knead the cookie dough.
Use a small cookie scoop to roll the cookie dough into 2″ balls and place 2-3″ a part on the baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Combine the powdered sugar, softened butter, vanilla extract. Add the milk 1 tablespoon at a time.Add several drops of yellow gel food coloring to the frosting and mix well. Scoop the frosting into a large freezer bag OR a disposable piping bag and snip the corner with the kitchen scissors.
Frost each cookie and use a small spatula to spread the frosting out evenly.
Give each cookie 1-2 candy eyes.
Gently squeeze the black frosting around the candy eye. Repeat with all cookies. Makes approximately 16 cookies.
