Dr. Seuss is a family favorite around here, and of course Green Eggs & Ham is such a classic Dr. Seuss book!
During story time, one of the things I love to do with the younger kids is to incorporate a fun activity or snack (or both!). Having something fun to go along with the story makes it more of a memorable time. And I actually think it helps the kids remember the story better!
These Dr. Seuss Cupcakes are perfect to use as a story time snack while reading Green Eggs & Ham together! You could also use these for a Dr. Seuss themed birthday party. How cute would that be?!
The best part is that these are super simple to make, even though they look rather impressive. Kids will be SO delighted by this fun and delicious dessert!
Green Eggs & Ham Dr. Seuss Cupcakes
Makes 20-22 ice cream cone cupcakes.
Ingredients:
- 1 Box White Cake Mix
- 1 Can White Frosting
- Green Ice Cream Cone Cups
- Green Gum Balls
- Egg Gummies
- Food Writer Edible Markers (Black & Green)
- Green Food Coloring
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Make cake mix according to package directions. Fill each ice cream cone 3/4 way up. Place on cookie sheet and carefully place in oven for 23-25 minutes.
Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
Take the green edible marker and color in the yolk on the egg.
Take the black marker and make circle lines on the green gum ball to make it look like a “ham”.
Color frosting by adding 2-3 drops of food coloring. Place frosting in a piping bag or baggie and snip corner.
Frost each cupcake cone with green frosting.
Place one green egg and one green ham on each cupcake.
You Green Eggs & Ham Dr. Seuss Cupcakes are now ready to serve!
