Smoothies are a great way to have a nutritious breakfast without having to spend too much time in the kitchen. Most weekday mornings are just so busy with kids, whether you homeschool to take them to public school, to really cook up a well balanced meal. They also make a quick snack anytime you need something to hold you over until the next meal.
Our On-the-Go Breakfast Cookies are another great, quick breakfast idea!
I enjoy coming up with new smoothie recipes so that I don’t get bored with the same old ingredients and flavors. Hence this Blueberry Almond Butter Smoothie! Blueberries have a lot of nutritional benefits and their tart flavor is a great way to wake up.
Also, I’ve been experimenting a lot with almond butter recently, as an alternative to peanut butter. Almond butter gives you slightly better health benefits than peanut butter and it’s a great way to change up the taste of your smoothie. Mix the flavor with the blueberries, toss in some frozen bananas, and you have a super healthy beverage that is filling and tasty.
If you’re a blueberry lover, be sure to save this blueberry macaron recipe for later – such a pretty and sweet treat!
