During my last few pregnancies, I have put together a bunch of scriptures that I can turn to easily to help me focus on my task at hand and to gain strength from the Lord. I just simply write them on 4×6 index cards so they are right at my fingertips. I keep these cards on my nightstand during pregnancy and I pack them in my hospital bag to have during labor and delivery.
Enjoying some rest and soaking in my sweet Benjamin (one of the twins). |
Here are the scriptures I turn to often during this season of my life:
32 weeks 2 days pregnant with the twins. I can’t believe I carried them another 7 weeks 4 days. Only with God’s help!! |
Sam, loving on his baby sister Lauren. |

Thank you for these. I am pregnant with our 4th child and I just finished my Doula training. I want to do things differently this time, and I think this is just the place to start, scripture!

Hi,
Wanted to say, I so appreciate these scriptures and will be putting them by my bed to study for sure. Just found out I am pregnant with my second. We have waited so long (7 yrs) for the timing to be right and the waiting has been so tough. With my first child I had a extremely painful cesarean. I am praying for God’s comfort and peace for this pregnancy now.
P.S. My husband’s name is also Jorge. Trying to find some cute baby boy names that work in both English and Spanish. So far haven’t found anything I like. So far we’ve considered Samuel and Gabriel but can’t agree. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Larissa

Congrats on your pregnancy! We have a Samuel, so I like that name! Gabriel has also been on our boy list; we also have a Luke (Lucius), Benjamin, Joseph, and Max. Maybe that will give you some ideas!
Glad you found this post and I pray the scriptures will bless you and that your birth be just as God has planned for you!

Thank you Sarah,
I really appreciate this blog and the scriptures. We are to set our mind on things above. This can be tough in the midst of bombarding media to have the coolest baby room and and the pressure to look like a super model while pregnant :-). It’s so important to refocus on the true meaning and Him the author and giver of life.
Thanks again, we will consider those names 🙂

Hiya,
Indeed these scriptures are so inspiring, finally got one to hold onto when the going gets ‘easy’. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant for our first child and it hit me this morning that I have been carrying this pregnancy by my own strength and needed to hand over the baton over to God. Bless you Sarah because these scriptures are just what I needed… X

Am on my 40 week and the doctor told me that my next ante-natal he will induce to labour with injection and I don’t want to go through that process, I needed a scripture that will lift my faith up and to believe that before my next appointment, my baby Micheal will be born on a nature situation and Gods grace and strenght will see me through.

Hi Agatha –
I asked for some scriptures from some of the followers on my Facebook page and I wanted you to read what those lovely ladies had to say; you can see it here – https://www.facebook.com/myjoyfilledlife/posts/832120640201905

Thank you so much for posting these! I was looking for Scripture to send to my #2 daughter who is in labor now with her second. My #1 daughter is also due any day with her first. Having 12 babies of my own (my youngest will be 1 in just a few days…time has flown!), I know God’s Word is so crucial to keep in mind. Without it, Satan can so easily make us feel overwhelmed . Thank you again for keeping these reminders fresh in our minds!

I am a first time soon to be grandma looking for ways to encourage my daughter who live miles away without smothering. I appreciate your courage to stand on the Word of God during your pregnancy and to pass along the scriptures that inspired your journey. The Word of God is the Truth we stand in.
God bless you to you and your family.
