When I was young, I had a fascination with dollhouses.  There was something about the combination of a miniature world and pretend play (especially when I got to pretend I was a mommy) that was just enchanting.

I had a friend that had an amazing dollhouse that her father had built and that’s all I ever wanted to play with whenever I went over for a play date.  So I’m sure you could imagine that I wanted a dollhouse of my very own.

For Christmas, when I was 8, that’s all I asked for – a dollhouse.

And I was blessed with it on Christmas morning that year.  It is one of my most memorable childhood Christmas mornings ever.

We don’t go overboard with gifts for our kids on Christmas.  We try to focus more on giving than receiving and keep Christ at the center of our Christmas celebrations.  So the gifts we do give to our kids on Christmas we try to make meaningful and memorable for them.

I’m usually an early shopper when it comes to Christmas gifts, but this year I haven’t even given much thought to what we will give all of our kids for Christmas.  We are in the process of moving across the country (we leave next week), so that has taken center stage in our lives right now.

Shop for any of the items on Kmart’s Fab 15 list at your local Kmart store or online.  Plus, if you are a Shop Your Way member and purchase a Fab 15 toy online between now and Nov. 22, Kmart will extend its free trial of the to Shop Your Way MAX program, which includes free two-day shipping for six months.

This holiday season, Kmart is encouraging customers to give the gift of hope by joining them in support of St. Jude’s commitment to saving children’s lives.  Beginning Dec. 7, when customers purchase any of the Kmart Fab 15 toys, $1.00 will be donated to St. Jude – up to $25,000.  Customers can also donate at check-out at any Kmart store or online now through Dec. 27.  What an extra bonus for doing your Christmas shopping at Kmart!
