Apple Bushel Cookie Cups

These apple cookie cups are a MUST TRY cookie recipe for fall! They are so fun to make and everyone is sure to rave about these cookie cups! They are sweet, delicious, and a pure joy to get in the spirit of the fall season.

Ingredients

  • 24 refrigerated sugar cookie dough bars
  • 16 ounces chocolate fudge frosting
  • classic tootsie rolls
  • flavored tootsie rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to directions on the cookie dough packaging and prepare a mini muffin tin with cooking oil.

  2. Roll the dough of each cookie into a ball and carefully place them into the mini muffin tin. Bake for 13-15 or until golden brown.

  3. Immediately upon removing from the oven, press a spoon into the cookie to form them into cups and allow them to cool.

  4. Cut each flavored tootsie roll into thirds and roll each piece into a ball - these will be the apples.

  5. Cut each classic tootsie roll into strips and roll them in your hands until smooth. Then, cut a small piece off each end - these will be the apple stems while the remaining will be the basket handles.

  6. Place the small classic tootsie roll pieces onto the top of the balls of flavored tootsie rolls to create an apple with a stem. Optionally, you can roll a green flavored tootsie roll to create a leaf for the apple.

  7. Fill a sandwich bag or pastry bag with frosting and cut the end just enough to pipe out some frosting into the cookie cups. Pipe some frosting into each cup and then place a desired amount of apples inside.

  8. Dip the ends of the long classic tootsie roll pieces into some frosting and then attach each one to the sides of the cookie cups - these will be the basket handles. Press firmly so they stay in place.

  9. Serve and enjoy!
