Math was one of my favorite subjects in school; not so much for my kids though. So anything I can do to make it a bit more fun for them is a huge plus! Here is a list of math apps that have made math a little more enjoyable around our house.
Cost: $1.99
Compatibility: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.2 or later.
Description: Who enjoys math drills? No one in my house does. Yes, I was using the old-fashioned flashcard drills and it was torture for everyone involved. Since my boys love anything on the computer, I decided to try and find something on the ipad (not a computer, but close enough). I found Math Drills and I love it. The boys don’t mind doing their drills as much anymore either!
This app allows you to track each student’s progress easily and customize problems to each of your students. It is so easy to use and there are so many ways to customize this app. I highly recommend it for math drills.
Cost: $0.99
Compatibility: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later
Description: Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using the fun game of Bingo! You can choose from three different difficulty levels, keep track of player profiles, and collect Bingo Bugs along the way.
Cost: $1.99
Compatibility: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later.
Description: This app teaches students to recognize, count, add, and make change using U.S. coins.
