Sometimes it’s nice to have some options on your ipad (or whatever device you may have) to distract your baby or toddler for a short period of time. Maybe you are trying to make dinner, wanting to have a peaceful trip to the bathroom, or waiting in the doctor’s office. Whatever your reason, this is a handy option. Here are some of our favorites.
Record your own voice or your child’s voice for the letters and shapes; add images of your own and captions to go along with them.
You can upgrade to the full version for $0.99. The upgraded version allows you more options for customization and doesn’t place a limit on how many sounds and pictures you can add. We have never felt the need to upgrade, and feel the free version has enough to fulfill our needs.
2. I Hear Ewe – Animal Sounds for Toddlers by Claireware Software
Cost: FREE
Compatibility: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later
Description: This app contains 24 animal sounds and 12 vehicle sounds. All your child has to do is tap the picture of the sound they want to hear and the app will say the name of the animal or vehicle and then play its sound. My 18 month old twins squeal when they play this app and just love to hear the monkey sound.
3. Peekaboo Pets by Kids Place

5. Color Dots by Ellie’s Games

Compatibility: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.2 or later
