Well, week #2 wasn’t very exciting, or that productive for that matter. We had been on vacation the previous week, so it was tough getting back into school right away. So, we just stuck to the basics; pretty much like we did in week #1.
Luke 5th grade –
Spelling: Completed lesson 2 which focused on words with long vowel sounds o and u and earned an 86% on his test.
Grammar: We are still working on sentences in our grammar lessons. This week’s lessons focused on compound subjects and predicates, and how to diagram subjects and predicates.
Handwriting: Luke really enjoys cursive handwriting. He completed several pages in his handwriting workbook this week and I think I’m going to start adding in cursive copywork.
Composition: I think Luke is enjoying our new curriculum for writing because he says it’s “easy.” This week we worked on paragraphs and learning to stay on topic.
Geography: Geography this week focused on exploring North America.
Sam 3rd grade –
Spelling: Completed lesson 2 which focused on two-syllable words and earned a 100% of his test.
Grammar: The first chapter in our curriculum focuses on sentences. This week included lessons on compound sentences and statements.
Handwriting: If I had to guess, this is Sam’s favorite part of school. He really enjoys learning to write in cursive. He completed several of his workbook pages this week.
Vocabulary: This week in vocabulary, Sam focused on synonyms.
Composition: This week’s lessons focused on sentences.
Hoping that next week we can start getting into our official school routine/schedule and throw the girls in the mix too!
