Are you a blogger who will be using Apologia for your science curriculum for the 2012-2013 school year?
If you are, I’d love for you to link up your blog below. That way we all can connect with other Apologia users, see how others are using this curriculum, gain ideas, advice and tips for projects and experiments, or to simply find fellowship.
In your link-up, please include the book(s) you will be using (Astronomy, Botany, Zoo1, etc.), and your name or blog title.
After you link up, please share the blog roll button in your sidebar. This will allow other Apologia users to find the list, as well as provide you an easy way to navigate back to the list.
Please note: your blog does not have to be exclusively about Apologia science; this list is for anyone using the Apologia curriculum for science. However, if you label your Apologia related posts as such, it will be easier for others to find the appropriate posts.
Happy Exploring!!
Hey Sarah, I added myself to the Apologia blog roll, and grabbed the button but I haven’t written about our up & coming school year yet, hope that’s ok (I’m still learning 😉 Hope you’re feeling good these days…praying for ya.
Hey Sarah, I added myself to your blogroll. I grabbed a button but after adding it to my page, I noticed that the target is working but the photo isn’t showing up. Thought I would let you know.
Thanks for adding your blog to the list and thanks for letting me know about the button. I checked them and if you grabbed the code from the post, that one doesn’t seem to be working. If you grab the one in my sidebar, that one is working.
They are both working now! Thanks again!
Thanks Sarah, I will go add you to my blog page now.

I have grabbed your button 🙂 we are finishing up Zoo 3 and will then be starting Astronomy.
I’m glad you linked up!
It will be fun to follow your journey through Astronomy, as we are just finishing that book up!
Excited to see how others are using the Young Explorers series!
Me too!
Thanks for stopping by!
This is such a great idea!! Thanks for telling me about it!
Sure thing! Hope you join the link up!
Hello, I saw your post on The Homeschool Scientist on facebook, and came here to add my blog, but I only blog about the upper sciences.
I do have a question though. I have been using blogger for several years, but do not know how you are able to reply directly to a comment. It always puts my reply at the bottom.
Can you please tell me how you do that? Is there html code I need?
Thanks!
Hi Marty – Feel free to link up anyway if you’d like. I don’t want to exclude anyone! 🙂 Maybe I’ll change it to all Apologia science.
As far as replying to comments – instead of leaving a comment in the box, click on reply under the comment you want to reply to. A new comment box should come up and when you publish it, it should show up under the comment you are replying to.
Hope that helps!
Blessings!
Oh, thanks! I’ll link up, then. =)
And I guess I wasn’t clear. It does put my comment at the bottom, but what I should have said was there is no option available to reply directly.
Maybe it’s because of the template I have chosen, or maybe that option is only available to blogs that aren’t as old as mine.
Hmmm…
I’ll go browse through settings and see what I can find.
Thanks!
I’m glad you linked up! I made a couple changes! 😉
Sorry I wasn’t more help with the comment thing!
Thank you! And no problem; I can probably figure it out. 🙂
thank you for posting on the party page about this. I am starting to use Apologia books for science and any help would be appriciated
I will grab your button and put on my blog
http://kidslearn2.blogspot.com/ is mine.
Thanks for linking up! You will love Apologia!
Thanks for the link up. It will be fun to see what others are doing with Zoology 3 this coming year.
I did add the button, but it’s a little too big for my side bar. Do you mind if I make it smaller?
Jenny – Absolutely make the button smaller if you need to!
Glad you linked up! I’m looking forward to following everyone’s science explorations this year!
Blessings!
Thanks! I was able to make it just a spec smaller to fit nicely on the side.
Great!
Hi! I joined up! It’ll be fun to see what others are doing! Funny how I wasn’t going to do Apologia again next year, but both my younger kiddos ASKED to do it, especially Botany. So, I’m going with their request and excitement! LOL
Thanks for linking up!! Especially since we are doing Botany too!!
I linked up. I am excited about this up & coming year. Thanks for the opportunity!
Thanks for linking up! I’m excited too!
I’m the only one doing zoo 2?! Yikes! The pressure is ON! 😉
Tamara – I think there a couple others now, so you’re not alone!
Thanks for linking up!
Thanks for asking me to link up 🙂 I’m starting to get excited for the coming year!!
Your welcome! Glad you joined in! I’m excited about this year too!
Thanks for the invite!
Thanks for joining!!
Oh, Sarah, I completely messed up my link. Is it something I can delete and do again? I’m really happy to join y’all. We’re doing Biology with my 10th grader and General Science with my 7th grader.
No problem Jenn. I fixed it!
Jenn – I just saw that you re-linked! So I deleted the first one! 🙂
Our first day of school was Monday and my daughter changed from Zoology 3 to Zoology 2! Is there a way to fix the link?
I can change it Jenny; no problem.
Thanks!
Thanks for inviting me to link up. We use VHSG, but I do occasionally blog about experiments and resources. Past posts are there too about some of the elementary series books (through the years we have used all of them.)
Oops I put the wrong science! We will be doing general science, nor physical…can you erase my link so i can put the correct one up there?
I’m #48 btw.
Thanks for sharing about this. I’ll be back to check it out more later, but love this resource!
~Erin
Thanks for stopping by Erin!
Thanks for inviting me over!
Sure thing Susann!
Thanks for letting me know about this! I am linked up and adding the button to my site. I am super excited to hear how everyone uses this wonderful program. It’s our first year and we are already loving it!
Thanks for linking up Jenni! Hopefully you can find some other bloggers that are using the same book and you can gain some great ideas and advice!
thanks for the invite. looks like your family will have a great year of learning, as well!
Your Welcome! Thanks!
I have a question. I got the Zoology 1 Book and the Junior Notebooking Journal. I thought this would be so much fun for my son, but now I am second guessing because he is only in K and I am not sure he’ll fully enjoy and get much our of this at this age. Thoughts/help?
Hi Rebecca –
I’m going to answer your question as best I can since we have not used Zoology 1 yet. I did take a peak at the table of contents to get a better idea of what is covered in the book.
First off, science should be fun at this age. Don’t expect your Kindergartener to remember everything you read, but at the same time, you WILL be amazed at what they do absorb and remember at this age. If something goes over your child’s head, that’s OKAY! He’s young and at this age, what he is learning is a stepping stone for things he will learn in the future.
So, my suggestion is to read the book with your son and have him narrate things back to you that he remembers. Cut the reading up into smaller chunks so it’s not overwhelming for either of you. Add in library books that are targeted for his age group.
Here are some other things you can do along with reading the text (and some links):
Go bird watching / insect watching (take some nature books along with you to help you identify)
Get a butterfly habitat

Hope this helps.

Hi Rebecca, I purchased Zoology 1 to do with my 6 1/2 year old (who reads at a Grade 4 level, so I thought would be fine), and when it arrived I could see it was going to be too much for her. So I switched to Astronomy for the year and it was the perfect fit. She’s now 7 1/2 and ready for Zoology 1.
Thanks for posting on my blog! I signed up for the blog roll and posted your button on my site. Very cool. This will encourage me to post on our Apologia curriculum.
Thanks for linking up Brookie-Lee!
Sarah,
I added my link, although I have not yet shared about Chemistry… I also added the blog roll button to my side bar… thank you!
Hi 🙂 I added our link up but forgot to say we’re using zoology 2, swimming creatures… still getting the hang of homeschooling for the first time so i haven’t blogged about it yet… i’ll get there though 🙂
I wanted to let you know I will not be participating in the blog roll, as I have opted to close my blog down, please remove me from your list…and I am terribly sorry for any trouble this may have caused.
Just joined the link up — We’re doing Zoology 2, swimming creatures!
Just linked up – we’re about to start Zoology 1 Flying Creatures and are finishing up Astronomy. I can’t wait to see the other blogs! – Victoria
I can’t seem to get the button to work and have tried different things but it says the photo has been removed from photobucket? Help!
