Last winter, the Doorposts blog had a Write Them on the Doorposts contest. To participate, you simply had to submit a photo, or photos, showing how you decorate your home with scripture. I did not participate in the contest, but I got some wonderful ideas on ways to display God’s word in your home.
I’ve already used one of the creative contest submissions in our new home. I got the idea from the Tyler Family who lost their home in a tornado. When they rebuilt their house, they had family and friends write scriptures on the framing of the house. What a wonderful way to wrap your family in God’s word and to literally build your house on the word of God.
I knew I wanted to do this someday, and that someday came sooner than I thought it would. We are in the process of building and our house should be finished some time in August. When they completed the framing, I went in and got to work writing God’s word on the “doorposts” of our home. Here are some pictures of some of the scriptures I wrote down:

Family room |
Luke’s room; I meant to write this in the finished basement, but it got switched |
Here are the other scriptures I wrote on the framing:
I’m looking forward to using many more of the wonderful ideas from the contest when our home is finished!
What scriptures do you have written on the doorposts of your home (what scriptures do you have displayed in your home)?
