Homeschooling….it’s a lot of work, exhausting, and at times overwhelming work. There are times many of us question if it is worth it even though we know deep down that it is. It is these times that we may need to consider a Vacation! Yes a vacation; do you make time for those when you homeschool? You should! And I don’t just mean the kind where you get to lounge in the sun on a beach somewhere. A homeschool vacation may be as simple as taking a week off from organized school work! There are a few reasons why you need to be sure to take a vacation (or stay-cation).
So you can see there are several reasons why you may need a vacation, but vacations can enhance your homeschool in another way…. through field trips!. If you have the oppurtunity to travel somewhere on vacation you have the ability to expand on or explore new topics. Zoos, museums, historical sites….all can be a great way to experience topics you and your kids have been discussing at home or find some new interests to dive into when you get home!
A classic strong-will child, Ashley, fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian in 2005; only to realize a new dream had formed, having a family with her husband (another strong-willed child). After much heartache, they were blessed with two daughter and a son, who are all proving to be just as spirited as their parents! Though she is still working part-time, she fills her days off with fun activities and lots of learning with her three kids. And this is where the blog comes in. Life with Moore Babies is where she documents the activities they do and the places they go in hopes that someone might be inspired to do some “fun learning” with their kids. You can find Ashley on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Google+.
