I gave each color its own drawer, except I combined black, white, and gray. That left me with one extra drawer which I'm using to store broken crayons for projects such as these:
Make Melted Crayon Art Using Crayon Shavings from Hands On: As We Grow
Melted Crayon Dot Art from Helping Little Hands
Melted Crayon Art from The Full Moxie
Homemade Crayon Gifts from Holding the World in a Paper Cup
You can download your own color labels by clicking the image below. I've included 3 different sizes. Use them for crayons, markers, paper, cardstock, legos........
And here are some other neat crayon organization ideas I found and thought I'd share with you:
Buckets from The Clements Crew
Tin Cans from Simply Crafty
Baby Food Jars from Monkey See, Monkey Do
Shoe Organizer from Fun For First
Baskets from Play-Based Classroom
Muffin Tin from Thrifty Fun

I'm linking up just after you over at Our Simple Country Living. I love this idea!! This organizational storage idea for crayon will double for character training too. You know, when a child doesn't want to put it in the correct drawer. You can also teach colors to real little ones. Since I don't have little ones any longer (and I just got rid of the crayons)I will save this idea for grandkids in the future. I love those storage drawers for all sorts of organizing.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh... I love this!! We are in the midst of major crayon overload and this is a great way to get it under control. Thanks for sharing!! :)
ReplyDeletelovely stickers and soooo many uses :)
ReplyDeleteGreat way to store and organize.
ReplyDeleteCurious how it works for you. Do these drawers sit on the table? They get one crayon at a time?
When all the kids are at the table we pull them off the shelf and put them on the table. It it's just one or two kids they can grab a few crayons and take them to the table. Or we can take the drawers completely out of the frame and put them on the table.
DeleteGreat idea. Thanks for sharing the printables.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday,
Sherry
